Evacuation ZoneKnow Your Zone: New Evacuation Zone Signs Coming to Your Neighborhood

The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District is committed to keeping our community safe and informed. As part of our ongoing emergency preparedness efforts, we are beginning the installation of Evacuation Zone Signs throughout the community.

What Are Evacuation Zones?

Evacuation zones are pre-defined geographic areas used by emergency services to coordinate evacuations during wildfires and other emergencies. Each zone has a unique identifier that allows for clear and targeted communication when time is critical.
During an emergency, officials will issue evacuation warnings or orders based on these zones. Knowing your zone helps you act quickly and stay informed when minutes matter most.

Why Are We Installing Evacuation Zone Signs?

The goal of this signage initiative is simple: awareness.
By posting evacuation zone signs in neighborhoods, we want to remind residents of the importance of knowing their zone before an emergency strikes. These signs will help community members identify which zone they live, work, or travel through—and encourage them to be better prepared.
