This alert implies a wildfire likely to rage of out of control. If is often hard to predict these fires because such they behave erratically, sometimes dangerously.One or more of the following criteria must be met:

• Moving fast: High rate of spread
• Prolific crowning and/or spotting
• Presence of fire whirls
• Strong convection column

Alerts people in an affected area of potential threat to life and property. People who need additional time may consider evacuating at this time. If you feel unsafe, don’t wait; Get Out!

Requires the immediate movement of people out of an affected area due to an imminent threat to life. Choosing to stay could result in loss of life. Staying may also impede the work of emergency personnel.

Advises people to stay secure at their current location by remaining in place as evacuating will cause a higher potential for loss of life.

• Stay inside until the fire passes
• Close all windows
• Keep all doors closed, but unlocked
• Keep your family together and remain calm
• Remember, if it gets hot inside your house, it will be much hotter outside

A gathering for residents in close proximity. Used if evacuation routes are obstructed by smoke, incoming emergency equipment, or directly threatened by fire. If not accessible, use the following as a last resort: behind a retaining wall, inside a structure, a large lawn or parking area, or the cab of a vehicle.
