    The Cookies Start Here

Over the past ten years the first stop Girl Scout cookies make on their way to your home is San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District Station 38 in San Ramon.

Firefighters were up before the sun this past weekend, February 27 and 28, to make sure the apparatus bay was clear, the fire engines were moved and the station was ready for the thousands of boxes of Thin Mints and Tagalongs that arrived Saturday morning promptly at 6 am.

“The partnership between the Girl Scouts and the Fire District has been invaluable in the effective distribution of our cookies”, said Jayne Riley, organizer of this year’s distribution event. “We truly could not do it without their support.”

Once the delivery was made and the cookies were accounted for, Girl Scouts and their leaders from San Ramon and Danville arrived to pick up boxes sold by their troops. The operation went on for two full days and one by one the cookies left the station and are now on their way to homes throughout our community.

“The Fire District is so pleased to be a part of this wonderful annual event", said Fire Chief Richard Price. “I was at the station this weekend and personally observed the near military precision of this operation. My daughter sold over one hundred boxes of cookies this year and she is anxious to complete their delivery.”

The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection is honored to partner with the Girl Scouts of America and hope to continue this tradition in the future.
